Gathering Materials

Gathered materials sourced from the outdoor environment brings opportunities to explore your own creativity skills, rethink the aesthetics found in nature, and the amazing assortment of colours, patterns, shapes and textures impossible to reproduce.

Gathering is also the coming together of people as nature's treasures are found and shared with others.  Experiences such as bush kindy programs, park adventures and beach combing is learning in partnership.

The Starting Point

Where you gather will depend on your connection to Country, be on the lands, waterways or oceans.  You'll know when it's found, as a strong sense of belonging will be felt with every visit.

The Journey

Over time you start to understand the changes in the landscape and challenge yourself to use this knowledge to discover and explore how nature responses to the four seasons, and the elements.

The Traces

The elements play an important part in gathering of materials as traces are plentiful after strong winds, high tides, low temperatures, stripping of bark, and the aftermath of birdlife feeding.

The Imprint

Our imprint on Country is left behind after each gathering therefore we must only take what we need and use the materials respectfully.  When possible return any excess foliage back to Country where life began.
