What Makes A Nest A Home

To protect it's self from nature's predators

and have a safe rest.

A place where the walls will stop the wind,

and the winter's chill gets lost in branches.

Dry leaves are entwined to bring warmth,

and a sign for the morning frost,

not to bother.

But what type of bird does the child imagine

visiting their nest.

A bin chicken, flamingo, kookaburra or a

squawking pest.

Using mark making and painting each bird came

alive, not one the same as bird life is

never common.

Regardless of their species, no feathers will be

ruffled, because this nest has a welcome sign inviting

all birds to reside.
